Criminal Background Check

All applicants to the Christ Hospital School of Nursing must submit to and satisfactorily complete a criminal background check as a condition to admission into the School of Nursing. An offer of admission will not be final until the completion of the background check with the results as deemed favorable. Admission may be denied or rescinded based on a review of the background check. Students who refuse to submit to a background check will be denied acceptance to the School of Nursing.

In addition, the New Jersey Board of Nursing requires a criminal background check to obtain licensure as a registered nurse. Past criminal history may have an impact upon the ability to obtain licensure and employment as a registered nurse.

All fees for the criminal background check are the responsibility of the student. All background screenings are conducted by a third party to ensure privacy.
